Beth
Emeth Congregation has started a Sunday School for Jewish
children from the surrounding communities in the West Valley
of Phoenix. We are inviting children of elementary
school age. We have two classes, one an early childhood class for
children 5-7 years old and a second class for children
who are 8 years and older. We also have individual instruction
with Rabbi Rosenberg for children approaching Bar/Bat mitzvah.
Our goal is to provide
a good Jewish experience for each child and family. The
children will learn Hebrew so they will be able to read, understand
and feel comfortable with the prayers that they will be saying
at services. They will experience the good feelings
that come from performing mitzvot and giving tzedakah. Jewish
children need to know who they are and feel anchored to our religion
and culture. Our curriculum provides opportunities to learn
the long history of our people and about our love for the land
of Israel. The students have an opportunity to experience
and celebrate the holidays in the classroom, and with the Congregation,
stressing our customs, traditions, laws and foods.
The School meets every
Sunday from 9:00AM -11:30AM at Beth Emeth. The school year
begins in September and extends to May.
Our goal is to have
our children to live a Jewish life and to be actively involved
in the Jewish community. We want our children to say " I
love being Jewish”. We want our young families to know
they are welcome and hope they become active members of our Congregation. |
